DSHS FFA MOD Truck Driver 1
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) is looking to hire a Truck Driver based in Buckley, WA! This role supports the transportation needs at Rainier School and will perform various trucking driving duties.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
The schedule for this position will be Saturday and Sunday will be 5:30 am – 2:00 pm and Mon-Wed 6:00 am-2:30 pm with Thursday and Friday as off.
Some of what you will do:
Loading and unloading:
Moving items around our campus
Commissary deliveries and transfers of goods to buildings on campus
Perform other duties as required:
Performs pre/post trip inspections on all equipment operated
Cleans exterior and interior of vehicles to include vacuuming
Operates, and preps snow/Ice removal, and sand spreading equipment to ensure roads are safe and accessible
Responsible for paperwork, record keeping, and mileage logs
Minor vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs
Housekeeping of shop area
Who should apply?
High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate
A valid state driver’s license is required
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work outside in any and all weather conditions perform required work
Six months to one year experience in working as a truck driver.
Must have the ability to read, write and understand and follow written and oral instructions
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
