The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist I is responsible for the technical work in a wide range of EHS disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization’s federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. These responsibilities include coordinating directly with facilities representatives, site leaders, or plant managers but working under the direction of regional/geographic EHS staff toward predetermined goals and objectives. This role also assists in implementing and standardizing Environmental, Health, and Safety efforts at Zebra’s Kenosha Distribution Center. Contributes to the development and execution of programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety, health, and environmental responsibility for employees and the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Measures and reports EHS performance, operational resource efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, hazardous waste, energy consumption, and safety information as it relates to the organization’s
  • Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Goals and programs.
  • Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or conditions in the workplace and its associated operations.
  • Interfaces with local leadership, key external organizations, or regulatory bodies within or related to the site, business, sub-region or country.
  • Coordinates with contracted services including contractors, suppliers & subcontractors.
  • Assesses environmental and workplace conditions, and recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment that are identified as deficient or not compliant with regulatory or company standards or policies.
  • Supports special projects as assigned (i.e., internal EHS recognition, global compliance, EHS project work, etc.)
  • Delivers site EHS training and monitors training compliance.
  • Supports the completion of corrective actions.
  • Anticipates, analyses, monitors, and prevents EHS hazards that could be present in the work area.
  • Participates and aides in the maintenance process for Zebra-certified Environmental and
  • Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience including warehouse operations experience required
  • Familiar with OSHA and ANSI standards associated with operation and training of Powered
  • Industrial Vehicles and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
  • Balance excellent customer service with governance
  • Understand stakeholder expectations and be able to balance competing priorities
  • Analytical, able to solve EHS problems of moderate complexity where analyses of situations or data are required
  • Collaborative, ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations to gain acceptance and sell ideas or tactical direction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and work with Governmental agencies
  • Computer savvy, MS Office experience
  • Must be able to work onsite out of Zebra Kenosha, WI facility

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Salary: USD 47000.00 – USD 70600.00 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
