DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Liquor Store General Manager 1B you will supervise, manage, and direct activities in a state-owned liquor store. Responsibilities include implementing and applying policy and procedure to store operations, assigning and evaluating work, and promoting good customer relations. You will be accountable for the entire store operation which includes sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records, and all related functions. As a leader, you will motivate and inspire store staff to build brand loyalty and create a positive store environment for both internal and external customers. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday – Saturday.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2; or
  • Two years of lead or supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
