Machine operator will be mounting plates , mounting hotmelt sleeve, splicing rolls , maintaining inks and raw materials while running the job.Eventually, they will learn all aspects of the printing press.

This is a second shift (2PM to 10:30P) position.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up correct color inks in correct station.
  • Change plates out to current job
  • Change HM sleeve, install current job 1st.
  • Change to correct RM if needed.
  • Ensure computer & paperwork are ready for run.
  • Ensure enough RM (raw materials) for run are available & have staged what is needed of what can be.
  • Assist operator or packager if needed.
  • Clean/wipe down machine or area
  • Continue to monitor ink levels
  • Ensure drying lamps operating
  • Splice vigilance, be present when splicing WALK splice to end of press, watch for tears, trim drops, splice ejection & eventually adjust registration.
  • Hang new RM & enter in AC4D
  • Monitor adhesive levels.
  • Watch machine, look for ink adhesive build up, study web path.
  • Monitor HM (hotmelt) filter
  • Continue to clean/wipe down machine & work area, ensure tools are safely/properly stored.

  • Assisting operator/back operator: in charge of changing the inks, changing plates, hotmelt sleeve and the RM’s, do the final measurement to close the job such as adhesive and silicone, print out the excel sheets and give it to the main operator to close the job.
  • Remove any ink from stations not needed for next job or won’t be used again for a while.
  • Remove ink plates.
  • Remove HM sleeve.
  • Hang & prep RM for next job.
  • Ensure R.M footage has been properly entered and all accounted for into AC4D.
  • Enter silicone and adhesive final measurements.
  • Take measurements, spreadsheet, roll tags & any paperwork to press operator to close out job.
  • Remove any unnecessary/unneeded RM from area.
  • Clean/wipe down machine area.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:

  • High School or Equivalent

Minimum Work Experience (years):

  • 1-2 years

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work effectively with others.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work with light to medium machinery.
  • 1+ year of related experience operating finishing and or label converting equipment (die cutting, laminating, slitting, etc)

Salary: USD 39300.00 – USD 58900.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
