Job Title: Permanency Specialist / Caseworker
Location: Allegheny County, PA
Salary Range: $19 – $22.35 / hour
Schedule: Full-time, Self-determined schedule, Hybrid, some evenings and weekends
About the Team
The Permanency Specialist / Caseworker (Allegheny County) is part of our Family Support Services team. This team provides a wide array of family support services to help families and children grow stronger, from prevention and reunification services to care coordination services. All of our programs are built around the idea of permanency — supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families — and putting the health and safety of the child first. This position independently develops and implements service plans that promote safety, well-being, and permanency for all assigned clients.
About the Position
- Develop and implement service plans that reflect the unique needs of all assigned clients in collaboration with clients, referral sources, and judicial guidelines
- Assess client needs using formal and informal evaluations, referral source recommendations, and client preferences
- Transport clients to visits, medical appointments, hearings and other appointments as needed
- Provide parent education to clients as needed
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with referral sources and other social service agencies
- Has familiarity with community services systems
- Prepare reports as mandated by Family Support Services standards and contractual requirements
- Submit all reports to supervisor for review on a weekly basis
- Attend, participate in, and when called upon, testify at all relevant meetings and hearings for assigned cases as necessary
- Comply with office protocol requirements including record keeping, logging, and documentation
- Maintain files in accordance with Family Support Services policy, contractual requirements, and
- DPW regulations
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours including evenings and weekends to meet client needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or relevant Human Service field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience working in Child Welfare.
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- FBI Clearance
- Valid, current driver’s license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
- Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually
- Reliable automobile with current inspection
- Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the job
