Zebra’s visionary mobile software framework provides all the capabilities needed to meet modern demand and drive tangible outcomes in inventory, labor, and customer experience today. As we elevate the overall customer experience with streamlined operations we are looking to hire an Advanced Quality Engineer in Test to help design automated test solutions for validating cloud services. This role is a blend of individual contributor, team lead and mentor. There will be plenty of opportunities to introduce new technologies to solve challenging problems. The immediate mission is to help define the test strategy and automated platform to validate our BE architecture. You will partner closely with Cloud Ops, Product, infrastructure and development teams to bring this to life, and then help nurture the growth of both the team and system over time. Responsibilities:
- Takes initiative in gathering data to investigate potential non-comformances.
- Designs business and operational processes to support quality execution against key performance metrics.
- Responsible for regular monitoring/reviewing business and operational processes to evaluate for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Acts as advisor to less senior technicians and/or engineers/suppliers in vetting non-comformances.
- Completes audit training, as required.
- Collects data and uses data collected by others.
- Understands key quality metrics and current performance levels.
- Uses technology to visually present data and analyses in meaningful ways.
- Leverages tools to simplify complex data or information to improve comprehension.
- Takes initiative in creating new adhoc reports to meaningfully represent business outcomes and drive decisions.
- May recommend new standard reports based on data trends.
- Routinely summarizes and may formally present information on defect data, process improvement data.
- Participates in training technician and/or engineers within functional area by developing and deploying currricula and/or mentoring.
- Acts as an advisor to less senior technicians and/or engineers in reviewing draft presentations.
- Assists in building accurate schedules.
- Resolves problems of significant scope that require development and selection of procedures and processes.
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
- Interacts with management and external stakeholders on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
- Be a technical contributor to projects from the ideation phase to the delivery of a commercial product.
- Designs test solutions to help develop and deploy core components on our next generation cloud services platform.
- Works with development and Cloud-Ops teams to drive the architecture and design change to increase the reliability, flexibility and efficiency of the backend system.
- Work closely with the product and other engineering teams to drive, develop and implement
- technical roadmap for cloud services
- Influence larger team’s technical and collaborative culture and processes by growing and mentoring other engineers.
- Automate existing manual test procedures, with a focus on quality, repeatability, and data driven results.
- May be requested to provide input on budget items.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific education and training in quality disciplines is required.
- Problem solving and analytical ability.
- Full knowledge of job related policies and procedures as well as corporate policies and procedures.
- Six Sigma training or similar certification/training strongly preferred
- Strong computer skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
