Our Human Resources (HR) Division shares those same ideals and is looking for an outstanding HR professional to join its team as a Senior Human Resource Consultant (HRC4). A 12 month in-training from the HRC3 level will be considered.

As a part of a Senior Consultant team, you will focus on providing critical resources support to the agency’s different divisions. You will work independently but have an entire HR division full of knowledge and experience to assist in arriving at the best results. Duties
Who you are:
We are looking for a HR professional who has the business insight to provide expert level consultation and the ability to resolve a challenging and complex range of human resource issues. You will exhibit superior customer service, have exceptional organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, be a problem solver and and are comfortable working independently. If you like helping others work through challenges, are creative and like challenges you will love this work.

Your mission is to be a strategic business partner in achieving the agency’s mission, vision and goals by:

Being a collaborative partner with DOR’s leadership team in performance management, corrective and disciplinary actions, classification and compensation.
Mediating workplace issues.
Coordinating with the agency’s Staffing & Retention Team to keep the agency’s workforce strong and productive.
Reviewing, analyzing, and researching position descriptions to determine proper allocation.
Representing the agency at appeal hearings when necessary.
Co-facilitating or leading training sessions.
Identifying and communicating developing issues and trends to provide proactive consulting and/or training.

Qualifications
At the HRC4 level (range 63, $6,077 – $8,170):
Four years of broad-based professional level human resources experience including the following:

Classification and compensation.
Recruitment.
Consulting with management on corrective action and disciplinary matters.
Writing pre-disciplinary and disciplinary letters.
Interpretation and/or explanation of collective bargaining agreements, human resources related state and federal laws, policies and procedures.

With the ability to:

Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of clients on a daily basis.
Maintain confidentiality.
Work in a team environment.
Use independent judgment during challenges and analyze complex information and apply specific area of need
Analyze complex information and apply results to specific areas of need.
Work with all employees and managers in a respectful, sensitive, and compassionate manner.
Remain flexible as changes occur in personnel rules and regulations.
Effectively facilitate problem solving.

At the HRC4 in-training level (range 59, $5,501 – $7,400):
One year as a HRC3 and broad-based professional level human resources experience.

Preference may be granted to applicants who possess the following in addition to the above qualifying experience:

Bachelor’s degree with focus on human resources, business, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field.
Experience providing consultation on training & development, labor relations, affirmative action & diversity, and reasonable accommodation.
Experience supervising, mentoring, and coaching staff.
